What an eventfull summer!

This summer has really been eventful! Lista Scout Jamboree was a complete success. I was promoted to ambassador to my area because the original ambassador was unable to make it due to death in the family(i think).

Well, I don't know why they chose to ask me. Maybe I was the final resort, but I think I did well. I got positive feedback anyway. Yay!

My small scoutgroup got a lot of attention. The four of us made it into 3 newspapers: the jamboree-paper, the local newspaper at Lista and Vårt Land, a nation wide newspaper.

The cause of this: out windmill. So it pays to plan and execute properly. And we bathe in fame! We love to know that everyone there knew who we were.

Then I got married! I know, ME, who knew??? It was great! A little bit anxious in the church though. Kept fiddling with my cufflinks.

The photo-shoot was like all photo-sessions, kinda dull, painful and exciting. BIG thanx to Eli-Karin who took great shots of us! Can't wait to get them!

As well as anything, the party was great too! As we were really excited and kinda "distant" as we plowed trough it. The time went really fast and the party was over far too soon! But it was excellent!!! Really! So great to see everyone that came to have fun with us. We really had too little time to talk with everyone, and some might have been harder to sit down with and strike up a conversation since we had not seen them in so long. (This being my fault btw.)

Newly wed and happy we went on our first honeymoon! Längsjö Camping seems to be our spot for camping. Nice location and great service! They even got us a cake! Cool. It had a marzipan mouse on it - AND it was blue! Tasted great too.

Home again we worked for a week before embarking on our second honeymoon to Fuengirola, Spain. Our friends Ove and Eli-Karin was to be married there, and without further ado they were. Linda was best woman to Eli-Karin and made everyone laugh and cry with her touching speech. The local resturant food was crap, but we had a great time there anyway. Some great partying (thanx to Putte and Lisbeth, shhhh....!)

I tried out belly surfing. I got some beating from the waves and I bet there is some water missing in the Mediterranean sea. It was great fun though!

I bought myself a new scateboard too, an Element board. The old-school kind, with soft wheels and don't have a usable nose. (Like the one used in "Gleaming the Cube" aka "Skate or Die".) I actually use it as transportation to work some days. It's really a smooth ride. And not so noisy as "modern" boards with hard wheels. It is great exercise too! Real fun!

As we came home, we found my sister, Ingvild, over-pregnant. 10 days later she gave birth to Leon Moss. I'm an UNCLE! Wow! Well, I was bafore too, but trough Linda by the wedding. I am soooo proud and happy!

As for my future prospects, I am taking (at least) a year pause from school. I plan to work as much as I can, or get a fulltime job. The right job might make me take a longer pause than a year, but I AM GOING TO FINNISH SCHOOL - if anyone wonders. I'm just a bit sick of math at the moment.

I also have a long-term plan to persuade Linda into purchasing more tec-items like graphic processors. Wonder how to?...

Ahhh... New sound-system for my Ubuntu Desktop.

And this is an excellent sound-system too. And fairly cheap as well. 399,- NOK at Elkjøp. Initially I was going to buy the Creative T3130. That decision was changed AT THE STORE, due to a possibility to save 100,- and come home with a newer and better model - the Creative T3200.

So now I can get the really good experience from games and music like I need.

It's a 2.1 sound-system. It enhances mp3's really well. It's spacefirendly, but have some wire-issues due to a MECHANICAL (WOW!) volume-button :D It also comes with a standard 3.5mm standard mini-jack. This I can connect to my n900 and play off sound directly. Cool? YES!

I realize I get extra happy when I spend money well. This is vital for my money-spending. After a couple of "bad ideas" I get into non-consuming-mode. Having spent my hard-earned cash on stupidity is a real pain in the bum :)

Now we are closing in on the RSVP from our wedding-invitations. Most have accepted, a few are unable to make it, and some are unresponsive - for now. We gladly accept your answer, how ever it may be. Though we hope you all can make it! :)

Testing the n900 to the max

Well, to the limit of my knowledge.

It is still a remarkable phone. Or rather a small and handy PC. Every day i dicover something new.

The latest is a pedometer that measures steps via the acelerometer. And also this blogging application. So from now on, most small and rather "facebook-like" updates may come from my trustworthy nokia n900 :)

School is really lame, boring etc etc.

Yes, you heard it from me, although probably not first:
School sucks. Thats right! It's really really not what I want to spend my time doing. At least not with the classes I'm taking just now, again.

U guessed it, it's MATH! The slow agonizing death of numbers (and more and more resently: letters too).

I seem to be able to solve any problem though. I kinda always have been, but the time spent on it is just not worth it! By the time I'm finished with the equation (or whatever) I shoud have been doing at least 5.

I practice and practice, but the solving rate is still the same. What I mean is: I solve an equation, and the next does not go any faster. Even if I use the same technique.

How come I'm so slow? What is damming up my river of thoughts that brings the boat of "solvation"? The river carves its way into my brain, but the flow-rate is still the same.

I try to do it faster, just to speed it up, but then I utterly fail to solve it. I go wrong somewhere.

Why don't I have a talent for this?

I can tell if a building is stable just by looking at it. I see the forces in the framework, the forces from the roof and the floors and the bending moment on the structure.
I eaven see the answer to most math-problems, I see what most answers should be. Most of the time I get the right answer by reverse-engineering my way trough it!

And that is bloody annoying.

And I don't want to go to school anymore! I want to work! To  be a part of a team, or independently make my own way! Solve REAL problems or issues!
Contribute to society!

Have a home! Have a wife! Have kids! Have a job! Be appreciated for what I do!

How I long for it all...

On the plus side:
I have a home, I will have a vife by 17. July next year, kids are planned sometime after the marriage... So a JOB. That's what's left.

Just have to finish school/college... So:

This looks like a job for: SUPER OLE MAGNUS!

Better thoughts about scouts. And eagerness!! :)

This is great. Finally things are going my (our) way with the scout organization.

We are approved on paper, we have regular meetings, we have acquired a tent and tent plugs. We have a recruiting poster that is going up on schools and sutch. We have a location for the Pentecost camp in spring.

The windmill we are going to construct is soon going from plans to construction.

These are happy times! :)

So, these are the days of OUR lives

The mornings go by too school,
the lunch is all about homework,
the mid-day is about dinner, usually alone with the TV, all though that's all changing now.

Congratulations to my GORGEOUS girl with her new job!!! <3

Evenings might be more 'us' time now. Just because she'll be working only early-shifts from now on. Well, at least for a year.Between workout, TV, more and more homework,
PC's (blogging, gaming, facebook, general surfing), I'm sure this will mean better rhythm to our lives. Logistics will be easier for sure. With only the one car, she starts job 15 min before I start classes. And the drive from her job to my school is apx. 5 min! Excellent!

Oh, we have made good arrangements before. It's just it'll be easier for me to get up in the mornings knowing that she too has to get up! Kinda demoralizing knowing that she'll still be sleeping when I get home after a couple of classes:)

It must be said, or rather shouted from the tree-tops, that I have never been more happy!!!

I'm relaxed in my everyday doings, and I DO HOUSEWORK, can you believe it??!!

Well, just telling the world that I'm happy, content and the future seems a bright and happy lace to me at present day.

Take care.
